Why do memories of childhood and our youth remain vivid while many of the ensuing years don’t leave much of a mark? One theory is that these were our first encounters, so sensations were strong. Later, we get jaded and don’t notice repeat experiences as they are not as distinct. So find something new and memorable in every situation. A friend has a ritual that at every big birthday 20, 30, 40… you have to find that number of new activities, big or small, during that year. Roll on 100 I can’t wait! Keep building new memories.
