The world is divided into ‘maximisers’ and ‘satisficers’. Maximisers make you move tables three times in a restaurant till they, notionally, have the best one. Satisficers tend to know when things are good enough and can get on and enjoy their meal while maximisers still fret that it isn’t perfect. Perfection is so often the enemy of ‘good’. If you set the pass mark at 100 out of 100 in everything you do, you will feel like a failure most of the time. Know when to stop fretting, put up with the wobbly table and enjoy life.
